Pavia University History Museum

Overlooking the Courtyard of the Fallen Soldiers in the central university building, it preserves manuscripts, printed texts, scientific instruments, anatomical and naturalistic preparations that bear witness to the history of one of the oldest university

Description

The main collections of the museum have an original core dating back to the second half of the 18th century. The Physics section developed around the instruments from Alessandro Volta’s laboratory, while the Medicine section inherits the 18th-century anatomical collections of Antonio Scarpa.
